When God Says Wait

Just yesterday I overheard someone saying  "It's really hard to wait".

I know that's a fact. Waiting is just not one of those things that we humans come by easily.

{Even in ancient times}

The warlike barbarian Philistines were attacking Israel again. Saul, the king of Israel found himself and his men in a narrow strait. The vast Philistine army was closing in on them. There was nowhere to turn- but to God.

Saul turned to God for direction. And God's answer was... Wait. 

Wait? Are you kidding?

Saul thought that too hard of a task. He went ahead of God. He didn't have success. His lack of patience cost him his kingdom.

God works on our behalf best when we wait for Him. 

" The LORD is good to those who wait for Him... It is  good that one should hope and wait quietly or the salvation of the LORD."
